between ACC, Agriculture
ITO and Agriculture NZ

It was developed in response to the relatively high injury rate amongst farmers

Ruraltec are contracted by Farmsafe to run these courses, north of the Harbour Bridge

Farmsafe "Awareness" is the initial programme, which aims to make farmers aware of the issues surrounding farm health and safety and looks at the reasons why health and safety on farms is good business practice.

Farmsafe "Plans" is the next stage, for those people who have been through the Farmsafe "Awareness" programme. It is designed to enable farmers to make a health and safety plan for their farms, to comply with OSH requirements. Both these programmes are free and consist of a one-day seminar with lunch provided.

Farmsafe "Skills" programmes are designed to assist rural people to improve their practical skills. Individual programmes include ATVs, Tractors, Chainsaw use and Growsafe/Approved Handler
